www.ecws.org T he main aim of the English Civil War Society is to stimulate interest in the authentic re-creation of seventeenth century military life in Britain, and in so doing we endeavour to entertain and instruct our own members and the visitors to our events. We do this by continually striving for historical authenticity in our clothing, artifacts, methods, weapons and tactics.
www.holcroftbloods.co.uk This group is based on the artillery that fought under Colonel Blood's command at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. It re-enacts the various wars from the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685 through to the end of the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714. Blood's has its own late 17th century gun "Babel" and provides displays of artillery, musketry and a living history encampment.
